“I strive to provide evidence-based therapy services grounded in connection and compassion. Whether you are working through trauma, navigating relationship challenges, embracing identity and neurodivergence, or dealing with grief, healing begins with a safe and meaningful relationship.”

Trauma therapy

Release the weight of trauma in a safe evidence-based way. I am trained in and regularly use EMDR, CPT, CBT, and somatic techniques. I see trauma from a mind-body, Polyvagal and “parts” lens, helping clients understand their experiences and how they handle the past, present, and future. Recently, I have developed special interests in the use of EF-EMDR and Ecocentric Therapy.

EF-EMDR views healing through the lens of relationships. Trauma often leaves deep imprints on how we connect—with ourselves and with others. EF-EMDR helps us identify patterns, understand strategies learned from past experiences, and develop healthy, authentic relationships.

Ecocentric therapy is rooted in the belief that healing is deeply connected to the natural world. Whether through mindful awareness outdoors, reflections on cycles in nature, and the integration of nature-based materials and metaphors into trauma work, this approach enhances healing and helps restore balance, belonging, and peace.

Group Therapy

We provide occasional support groups for PTSD, C-PTSD, grief and loss, and working through the challenges of parenting. If you have an idea for a group, contact us!

Supervision

As an approved supervisor by the Behavioral Health Executive Council in Texas, Kristen provides individual and group supervision for LMSWs working towards clinical licensure.

LGBTQ+

I hold a deep commitment to fostering safety, healing, and empowerment in the LGBTQIA+ community. I provide gender affirming care and work to create a safe environment in an often unsafe world. Your identity is yours, and even though you’ve likely had a lifetime of societal invalidation— you will always be valued and celebrated here. I work with clients to foster a strong sense of self-acceptance and healing from within, integrating and exploring the trauma of minority stress and building strong resources for authenticity and happiness. Support and inclusion is crucial for living an authentic life.

Couples

Every relationship faces challenges — conflict, communication struggles, changes in intimacy, or the stress of major life transitions. Couples therapy isn’t about deciding who’s “right” or “wrong”; it’s about creating a safe space where both partners can be heard, understood, and supported.

Together, we’ll explore the patterns that shape your relationship, identify strengths you can build on, and practice new ways of connecting. Whether you’re working through a specific difficulty or simply want to deepen your bond, couples therapy can help you move from disconnection toward understanding and growth.

Neurodivergence

I am familiar with the unique challenges individuals with neuro-divergent brains face. Autism and ADHD are not flaws or a failures — but a difference in how the brain is wired. People with ADHD often process information, regulate attention, and experience emotions differently because of unique patterns and pathways in brain chemistry. While these differences can create challenges in a world that isn’t always designed for them, they also shine with creativity, energy, and resilience.

In therapy, we work together to understand your ADHD not as something “wrong,” but as part of a system to work with, not against. By recognizing both the strengths and the struggles, we can build strategies that support your daily life while honoring your unique brain. We can also integrate other therapies to rewire unresolved experiences.
